Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess any one of the following qualifications from a recognized university or AICTE-approved institution (completed as on the last date of application):

  1. Engineering/Technology Degree: Degree in Civil Engineering or Technology, or any Engineering/Technology degree, or AMIE qualification in any Engineering/Technology stream; OR
  2. Science Degree: Degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Instrumentation, Electronics & Communication, or Agriculture (B.Sc.); OR
  3. Diploma: Diploma in any branch of Engineering/Technology from an AICTE-approved institution.

Note: Candidates who have not completed the qualifying course are not eligible. KEA will not be responsible for incomplete applications.

Age relaxation includes a one-time 5-year relaxation per Government Order No. เฒธเฒฟเฒ†เฒธเฒ‡ 262 เฒธเณ‡เฒจเฒจเฒฟ 2025 dated 29-01-2026. Additional relaxation applies for government employees, ex-servicemen, NCC full-time supervisors, Gram Samuha Parishilakar, special pay candidates, and widows as per detailed rules.

Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be placed in the 2024 Revised State Pay Scale of โ‚น37,500 โ€“ โ‚น76,100 per month (Group-C). In-hand salary includes applicable allowances as per Karnataka Government norms.

Selection Process

The selection comprises the following sequential stages:

  1. Competitive Written Examination โ€“ Offline OMR-based test consisting of Paper-I (General Knowledge) and Paper-II (Specific Paper).
  2. Kannada Language Test โ€“ Qualifying in nature (150 marks, minimum 50 marks required) for candidates who have not studied Kannada as first or second language up to SSLC level or passed an equivalent higher-level Kannada examination. Marks are not counted in final merit.
  3. Document Verification โ€“ As per merit and category-wise reservation.
  4. Probation & Departmental Training โ€“ Selected candidates undergo 2-year probation and must pass the departmental "Kadaya Tharabeti" (Survey Training) examination within a 6-month training period, securing minimum 35% in theoretical test and 40% in practical test.
