Mathematics
- Set Theory β Union, Intersection, Cardinality, Elementary counting; permutations and combinations.
- Probability and Statistics β Basic concepts of probability theory, Averages, Dependent and independent events, frequency distributions, measures of central tendencies and dispersions.
- Algebra β Fundamental operations, expansions, factorization, simultaneous linear/quadratic equations, indices, logarithms, arithmetic, geometric and harmonic progressions, determinants, matrices.
- Coordinate Geometry β Rectangular Cartesian coordinates, distance formulae, equation of a line, intersection of lines, pair of straight lines, equations of circle, parabola, ellipse, hyperbola.
- Calculus β Limit of functions, continuity, differentiation, tangents and normals, maxima and minima, integration by parts, substitution, partial fractions, definite integrals and applications.
- Vectors β Position vector, addition and subtraction, scalar and vector products, applications to geometrical problems and mechanics.
- Trigonometry β Simple identities, trigonometric equations, properties of triangles, solutions of triangles, heights and distances, general solutions.
Computer Awareness
- Computer Basics β Organization of a computer, CPU, structure of instructions, input/output devices, memory, backup devices.
- Data Representation β Representation of characters, integers, fractions, binary and hexadecimal representations.
- Binary Arithmetic β Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, simple arithmetic, twoβs complement arithmetic, floating point representation.
- Boolean algebra β Truth tables, Venn diagrams.
