The Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited (RCF Ltd) has officially released the exam pattern and detailed syllabus for the recruitment of Operator (Chemical) Trainees to help candidates prepare for the upcoming 2026 examination.

Short Information

Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited (RCF Ltd) is conducting a recruitment drive for 188 vacancies for the post of Operator (Chemical) Trainee. The selection process includes an online computer-based test (CBT) followed by a skill test and document verification for eligible candidates.

Exam Pattern

The RCF Chemical Operator Trainee exam is an objective-type online test consisting of 100 multiple-choice questions. The total marks for the examination are 200, with a duration of 90 minutes.

Note: There is negative marking for incorrect answers as per the IBPS pattern. Each correct answer carries 2 marks. The question paper will be bilingual/trilingual, available in English, Hindi, and Marathi.

Subject-wise Syllabus

The syllabus is divided into two primary sections: Professional Knowledge (Technical) and General Aptitude.

1. Technical Subject (Chemical)

• Unit Operations: Heat Transfer (conduction, convection, radiation, heat exchangers), Mass Transfer (diffusion, absorption, extraction), Distillation (types of columns, relative volatility), and Drying (types of dryers).
• Unit Processes: Process technology of fertilizers, acids, synthesis gas, boilers, reactors (batch and continuous), and cooling towers.
• Fluid Mechanics: Fluid properties, flow measurements, pumps, valves, and compressors.
• Chemical Safety & Pollution Control: MSDS, first aid, water and air pollution control, safety signs, and 5S methodology.
• Fuel Analysis & Combustion: Types of fuels, calorific value, proximate and ultimate analysis.
• General Chemistry: Atomic structure, periodic table, gas laws, basic organic and inorganic chemistry, thermodynamics basics, and material balance.

2. General Aptitude

• General Knowledge: National and international events, Indian Polity, Economy, Science & Technology, Awards, and Sports.
• General Intelligence & Reasoning: Analogies, series, coding-decoding, blood relations, puzzles, and syllogism.
• Quantitative Aptitude: Number system, percentage, ratio, average, profit and loss, time and work, and data interpretation.
• English Language: Grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, sentence correction, and idioms.
