Age Relaxation (Upper Age Limit):

• OBC-NCL: 3 years
• PwBD: 10 years (UR/EWS), 13 years (OBC-NCL), 15 years (SC/ST)
• Ex-Servicemen: Length of service + 3 years (UR/EWS), +6 years (OBC-NCL), +8 years (SC/ST) after deducting service length from actual age

Selection Process & Exam Pattern

The selection process comprises three stages, each serving as a qualifying gateway to the next:

Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT)

• Duration: 90 minutes
• Questions: 100 objective-type questions
• Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark deducted for each wrong answer
• Minimum Qualifying Marks:
  • UR/EWS: 40%
  • OBC-NCL/SC: 30%
  • ST: 25%

Stage 2: Document Verification (DV)

• Candidates shortlisted at 1:1 ratio against vacancies based on CBT merit, RRB-wise
• Original documents must be produced; no extra time given for missing certificates
• Required documents include Matriculation/educational certificates, ITI/Apprenticeship certificates, caste/category certificates (in prescribed Annexure format), valid photo ID, and NOC if employed in government service

Stage 3: Medical Examination (ME)

• Conducted by Railway Medical Authorities
• Medical standards vary by post: A3, B1, B2, or C1 as prescribed for each specific category

How to Apply Online

1. Visit the official RRB website relevant to your region or the centralized portal.
2. Click on "Create an Account" and enter your name, father's name, mother's name, and date of birth exactly as per your Matriculation certificate.
3. Use DigiLocker or Aadhaar for identity authentication to ensure smoother verification later.
4. Log in and fill the online application form, selecting your preferred RRB and Pay Level (Level-5 for Grade-I Signal or Level-2 for Grade-III).
5. Provide order of preference for posts under the chosen RRB and Pay Level.
6. Capture your live photograph through webcam or mobile camera as instructed (pre-existing/printed photos are not accepted).
7. Upload your signature in JPG/JPEG format (30–49 KB, black ink on white paper, running handwriting/cursive).
8. Pay the examination fee online through net banking, debit/credit card, or UPI.
9. Submit the application and save the registration number for future reference.

Important Notes:

• Candidates can apply for only one RRB per pay level. Applying to multiple RRBs for the same pay level leads to rejection of all applications and debarment from future RRB/RRC exams.
• Modification window (with ₹250 fee per modification): 1–10 August 2026 (account details and chosen RRB cannot be changed).
• Scribe detail submission window: 11–15 August 2026.
