Exam Pattern
The written examination is the first stage of the selection process and consists of two papers conducted on the same day. Candidates must clear Paper I to have their Paper II evaluated.

Negative Marking: In Paper I, there is a penalty for wrong answers. One-third (1/3rd) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted for every incorrect response.
Subject-wise Syllabus
Paper I: General Ability and Intelligence
- General Mental Ability: Logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude, numerical ability, and data interpretation.
- General Science: Scientific temper, everyday science, Information Technology, Biotechnology, and Environmental Science.
- Current Events: National and international importance across culture, music, arts, sports, governance, and societal issues.
- Indian Polity & Economy: Constitution of India, social systems, public administration, economic development, and human rights.
- History of India: Social, economic, and political aspects, the growth of nationalism, and the freedom movement.
- Geography: Physical, social, and economic geography of India and the world.
Paper II: General Studies, Essay & Comprehension
- Part A (Essay - 80 Marks): Long narrative essays on modern Indian history, freedom struggle, geography, polity, economy, security, and human rights issues. (Can be written in English or Hindi).
- Part B (Comprehension & Language - 120 Marks): Comprehension passages, prΓ©cis writing, developing counter-arguments, simple grammar, and vocabulary. (Must be written in English only).
