Key Age Relaxations:
- Serving Railway Employees (3+ years service): UR 40, OBC 43, SC/ST 45 years.

- PwBD: Additional 10 years relaxation (with valid certificate from Govt. Hospital committee).
- Ex-Servicemen: Service rendered + 3 years (min 6 months attested service).

Reservation Note: This is an open quota. SC/ST/OBC/ESM/PwBD candidates get age relaxation as per general open-market rules, but selection with relaxation places them against a reserve roster point, not a separate reserved vacancy.
Selection Process & Exam Pattern
The selection comprises three stages. Candidates must qualify each stage sequentially.
Stage-I: Written Test (60 Marks)
- Pattern: 40 Objective Questions (40 marks) + 1 Essay Question (20 marks).
- Syllabus: Scouts & Guides Organization/Activities, General Knowledge, History of Scouting/Guiding, Law & Promise, Organization at various levels, Training Centres, Books, Motto, Salute, Flags, Social Services, Hiking, Proficiency Badges, Stages, Thinking Day, Progressive Training, Pioneering, Handicrafts, Jamborees, National/International Organizations (WAGGGS/WOSM), Competitions (Uprastrapati Award, PM Shield), Community Development, Aims & Methods.
- Duration: 60 minutes.
- Qualifying Marks: 40% minimum.
- Language: Hindi or English (candidate's choice).
- Shortlisting: Candidates called for Stage-II in 1:3 ratio of vacancies based on Stage-I merit.

Stage-III: Medical Examination
- Candidates clearing Stage-I & II are called in 1:1 ratio of vacancies (merit order).
- Medical fitness as per Railway standards for the offered post (Level-1 or Level-2) is mandatory.
- Final appointment subject to verification of original documents and medical fitness.
Total Marks (Stage-I + Stage-II): 100 Marks.
How to Apply Online
- Visit the Official RRC/ER Website and click the "Online/E-Application" link for Scouts & Guides Quota, then select "New Registration".
- Fill personal details: Name, Father's Name, Date of Birth, Community, Email, Mobile Number. A Registration Number and Password will be sent to registered email/mobile.
- Log in using the Registration Number and Password.
- Upload scanned documents: Photograph, Signature, Left Thumb Impression (LTI), self-attested certificates for Date of Birth, Education/Technical Qualifications, Caste (SC/ST/OBC/EBC/EWS), Income Certificates, Self-declarations, and Scouts & Guides Achievement Certificates.
- Complete all mandatory fields in the application form and submit. A Unique Application Number will be generated. Save the Registration Number for future stages.
- Take two printouts of the submitted application form for records.
